A Tribute to Voyage !

Break Away !
 -- R.V.K. Nadeem

Break Away !
This is to the people standing in shackles,
either unaware or ignorant.
The chain pulls them to the direction of its will.
Their naive compliance doesn't let them realize
that the first of the poets didn't emerge from classrooms,
that the first of the architects were half naked fellows
searching for shelter in the wild.

Break Away !
Yes, the clanking of chains would attract attention,
but you have to learn to dance
in the shower of arrows
emanating from the glare of the onlookers who hold the
shackles sacred.
But in the end you'll be happy.

Break Away,
Break away the bonds,
and leap towards the uncharted, the unexplored,
the vines of the established beliefs would try to pull you down.
These are the same vines that ridiculed a child centuries
back when he suggested with an innocent eye-
"Grandpa, may be the Earth is of the shape of an Orange."
the bruise from scuffle with the shackles and
welt of the vines
would, later, be a reminder,
of the revolution you started,
a battle scar,
a reminder of the VOYAGE !

This piece of excellence is by one of our friend R.V.K. Nadeem. He is one of those people who are deeply rooted with the idea of conveying message through means of Speeches, Talks, Debates and Poetry.

He uses Poetry as his weapon to reach out to the masses to convey his message of Peace, Harmony and Brotherhood. In this Poetry he talks about his idea of what does Voyage means to him and how this club has inspired him and helped him to break out the fear of stage.

Open Letter from Ek Kadam

Apologies for interrupting your entertainment. Some of you might not like reading this or even hearing this, but isn’t it human nature that whatever is beneficial for us is always overshadowed by what makes us happy. We weigh pleasure more than responsibility. We were always short sighted, weren’t we? Looking for quick fame, instant money; even the one day matches have been narrowed down to 20-20’s.
Recently our Independence Day passed by, and for most of us it was just another holiday. The celebrations for 15th August were not as enthusiastic and cheerful as our Archfest celebrations or for that matter any other festival’s celebration. Why ?
Today when it comes to singing and dancing, we, the youth gets psyched up and our level of enthusiasm and energy reaches its maximum. We know the birth date, birth place and every detail of the celebrity we adore, but do we know when is the birthday of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Rani Laxmibai or any other freedom fighter. Do we even know what happened during the National War of Independence of 1857 or what was the agenda behind the non-co-operation movement. We are seen scratching our heads and rubbing our hands in guilt when we are asked about our role in the progress of our nation.
The outsiders conquered our nation because we valued other cultures more than ours. We look down at ourselves when compared to other cultures.
National interest is always looked upon as inferior issue, isn’t that the reason why Dollar is more valuable than Rupee?
We value McDonalds and KFC chefs more than our mothers.
Previously the takeover was through war, now, its economical, Psychological and Cultural. We have to make sure the history doesn’t repeat.
We are Architects and we have the power to construct or destroy. Today USA is one of the super powers, but 250 years back when it was a colony of the British, a guy named Thomas Jefferson stepped in. He was the leading figure in American War of Independence, and He was an Architect.
But that doesn’t mean VOYAGE; our club is all about war or history. We are humans too, we aren’t robots. This club would be Architecture, Social, Sports, Adventure; but above all, it will be fun.
Join us to create a better today for a better tomorrow;
